Bond Is Back: Name Of New 007 Film Revealed

The next James Bond film will be called Skyfall, the film's producers have confirmed. The announcement was made at a launch in London attended by leading members of the cast including 007 himself, Daniel Craig. Producer Michael G. Wilson described the title of the film as being the "the worst kept secret in London". Skyfall will be the third Bond film to star Craig as the secret agent and filming on it begins today. Craig said: "In doing a third one... it was my intention to make the best Bond movie that we possibly could and Bond with a capital B - and I am just incredibly proud to be part of this group of people." He added: "We've got a great script." Dame Judi Dench will resume her role as M, while Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem will take on the role of the villain. The film's director, Sam Mendes, revealed that Ralph Fiennes, Ben Wishaw and Albert Finney would all be part of the cast but could not disclose their characters. British actress Naomie Harris will also star as well as the relatively unknown French actress Berenice Marlohe. Mendes said he took on the 23rd Bond film because he wanted a "huge challenge" and had always been "a huge fan" of the films. He revealed they would be shooting much of the film in Whitehall, close to where the announcement was made. Pinewood studios will be used as well but Bond's adventure will also take him to Shanghai, Istanbul and Scotland. Mendes promised that contrary to rumours there would be "a lot of action". Skyfall will open in cinemas in October next year - 50 years after the very first Bond film, Dr No, was released. Spanish actor Bardem and Marlohe both admitted they watched the British films in their home countries as a child. The French actress said: "When I got the audition it took me a few days to realise I am going to be part of it and I am so excited." While for Pirates Of The Caribbean actress Harris, her involvement in the project had yet to properly sink in. She said: "I still can't believe it is happening. I'm still having to pinch myself. "I spent two months training so far so I feel really ready for the roller coaster that is about to commence."
