Rihanna Skips People's Choice Awards 2012 for NBA Game
Despite being nominated for two kudos, Rihanna was a no-show at the 38th annual People's Choice Awards. It was later uncovered that the "Only Girl (In the World)" hitmaker actually spent the night watching a basketball game right across the street from where the awards show took place.
On Wednesday, January 11 night, the 23-year-old singer was photographed sitting courtside at the Los Angeles' Staples Center to catch a match between Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat. Trading a glam-up look for a casual one, she opted to wear sweatshirt and a pair of jeans with a snapback cap.
Riri was nominated for Favorite Pop Artist and Favorite R&B Artist at this year's PCAs, which ceremony took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The ex-girlfriend of Chris Brown lost the former trophy to "Skyscraper" singer Demi Lovato, but nailed the latter one.
The "We Found Love" singer wasn't the only one blowing off the awards ceremony though. Her best friend Katy Perry, who has just separated from husband Russell Brand, was also absent from the event. She, however, turned out to be the biggest winner of the night by scoring four kudos, including Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Song of the Year.
